It has come to our attention that some Parishioners have difficulty getting to the Sanctuary to receive Holy Communion.
It has therefore been suggested that those Parishioners who have this issue should stand up if they are able or put their hand up so that Eucharistic Ministers can see them and distribute Holy Communion accordingly.
This practice will be in place from Saturday 2nd August.

Our Monday Warm Space sessions in the church hall have proved popular and many people from the church and community attend regularly.
We look forward to welcoming the regulars and anyone who would like to join us for coffee, soup, toasties, cake and lots of chat and friendship 12noon – 2pm

Your valued ongoing support to the Parish can be made through the following options:
• Gift Aid and Offertory Envelopes - for 2023/24 now available for collection in the church porch.
If you are a new parishioner and would like a box of envelopes, please speak to a member of the Welcome team.
• Standing Order – Attached to this newsletter is the standing order and Gift Aid form for donations to St. Paul’s Parish.
Please indicate on this form if you are not a tax payer but would like to set up a standing order only.
This form, should be printed, completed, signed and returned to either your Bank or using the information on the form, to set up a standing order with your bank online.
The Gift Aid section should be completed and returned to Church or the Parish Office.
• Contactless Donations – St. Paul’s Only Dona Contactless Giving Device is available in the church entrance hall.
The device will take donations for St Paul’s by card or mobile phone.
The large screen offers a choice of amounts to donate, currently £5, £10, £15, £30, £50 & £100, or you enter your own different amount.
You will then be invited to insert or tap your card to make payment. Mobile phones work as well.
The first time you make a donation or give to the offertory you will be asked whether you would like to gift aid your donation. Even if you have already filled in a paper gift aid form please do fill in the short form as this will raise an extra 25p from HMRC for each £1 you donate.
You only have to fill the form in once, your eligible card donations will automatically be gift aided in the future.
There is a cost to the church; a monthly £15 service fee to Dona and a transaction fee of 1.69% of each donation is paid to Sum Up.

Do you know anybody who is Catholic, aged around 18 to 22 and still not got anything lined up for the year ahead?
Castlerigg Manor (the Diocese of Lancaster retreat centre, located in the Lake District) are still looking for young people to join their youth ministry in internship scheme.

The Food Bank organisers have expressed their sincere thanks to everyone for their generous donations.
We have been informed that they are in need of tinned tomatoes, long life fruit juice and tinned meats and vegetables.
No further donations of pasta or teabags are required at this time as they have a large amount of stock of these items.

There are many unsung heroes here at St. Paul’s, not least those who so generously clean the church on a rota basis. We have several teams of 3 to 4 people who sweep, dust and vacuum the church once a week, usually on a Thursday or Friday mornings.
Volunteers are always needed. If you feel that you can spare an hour or two either let Fr. Bernard know, or have a word with Trish Jones and they will be able to let you know the time/day of the next clean.
Whilst you may not be able to donate in person, you can donate via standing order from your bank.
Email the office for a Standing Order Form. Remember to tick the Gift Aid Box if you are a UK Taxpayer.
Whilst you may not be able to donate in person, we still rely upon donations to help keep St Pauls going and to keep providing help and pastoral care to the members of our parish.
