Welcomers Needed for Padley Chapel

Historic Padley Chapel near Grindleford is a Designated Pilgrim Place in the Diocese of Hallam for the 2025 Jubilee Year.

Therefore, more people are needed to help with the Chapel opening on Sunday afternoons and the occasional weekday during the “Pilgrim Year of Hope”.

You will be part of a team of 2, 3 or 4 volunteers and will be given full guidance and support.

Youth Group

Had a session this week on Wednesday for Pizza and Games night which was a great success.

Permanent Dioconate

We pray for the Permanent Deacons serving in our diocese and we pray for new vocations to this ministry.

If you are a baptised and confirmed man, between 30 and 55 years, prayerful, and with the desire to serve God's people, and you are visible and involved within your parish and community, you might be being called to be a Permanent Deacon?

St Gerards and Immaculate Conception Rotherham

Would you like to be involved in a group for parents/ carers and children under 5?

Caritas Diocese of Hallam needs volunteers to help establish a ‘Musical Tots’ group to take place at Immaculate Conception Church Hall and St Gerard’s Parish Room.

This will be a fun group where children can enjoy music and playing instruments, we will also serve some healthy snacks and refreshments. No experience needed!

The Diocesan Communications group would like to broaden its membership so that it is more representative of people from all over the diocese.

The group currently meets monthly for about 60 minutes. If you have any skills or experience in journalism, website development or social media content generation and are willing to share your knowledge and experience we would love to hear from you.

World Sight Day

As part of World sight day,14th October, we are collecting any used and unwanted spectacles.

Over the last 12 months, we as a club have sent over 5,000 pairs of donated spectacles to 3rd world countries.

St Paul - Icon

ST. PAUL’S GOLDEN JUBILEE CELEBRATIONS

Before you enter church this weekend, please take a look up above the door and see the newly installed icon picture of St Paul and the Parish logo.

This has been installed to mark 50 years since the church was opened in 1973.

St Paul's Library

The library books are currently on the bookcase in the porch. Please feel free to take any book you are interested in reading.

The Sisters of Mercy have kindly added to our collection by donating books from the Convent library. They include copies of prayers and reflections written by Catherine McAuley, their foundress.

If anyone would like to take and keep one of the books by Catherine McAuley, in memory of the Sisters of Mercy - their friendship, welcome and of course all they did for Catholic Education in Doncaster, then please do so.

The Sisters would be delighted.
