We are very pleased to announce and welcome both Caroline Gillon and Imelda Dewar who have joined the Pastoral Council for a period of 3 years.

There are still vacancies for the positions of Chair of Parish and 3 members of the Pastoral Council.

At the recent Pastoral Council meetings, it was felt, that as a parish we need to step back and ask ourselves:

Who are we?

What do we do well?

And what else could we do or need to do?

These questions centre around the fact that we are in a period of change with the appointment of Father Evangelist as Parish Priest of St. Paul’s and our sister parish Christ the King.

It is some 6+ years since we asked the questions how can we develop further as a community church, give witness to the gospel, further our individual sacramental and spiritual life, along with enhancing our understanding of scripture, spirituality and the teachings of both Pope Francis and our Catholic faith.

It is hoped that during September a discussion paper will be circulated, outlining both what we do well, how we can be more inclusive and outgoing in welcoming people who visit and/or seek to join our community which enable an Open Parish Meeting and Conversation to take place in October and when we can agree our objectives and development programme for the next 5 years.

Thank you for the donations last weekend, which totalled 33.1kgs.

We understand from the Foodbank that stocks of tinned meat, tomatoes and vegetables, UHT Milk, long life juice, breakfast cereal,, biscuits, coffee and drinking chocolate are running low.
